antique 10K gold Victorian faux tortoise pearl ivy flower motif hair comb. This comb was masterfully created from celluloid (plastic) which was a popular way to create these combs after the mid 1800's. Comb has a great Art Nouveau look and feel.
The gold ivy work measures approximately 3 3/4"L x just under 1"H, and the center flower is topped with a 5 mm lustrous pearl. Comb tests in the 10k - 14k range with a Niton XRF analyzer.
