Description

Partial child's dinner set consisting of 15 pieces with a blue stylized border decoration. There are six 4 3/8" dinner plates, six 4 3/8" soup plates and a soup tureen with lid and under plate. The tureen stands about 5 3/4" to top of the finial. All plates have a rectangular impressed mark that I have not been able to read. This pattern is listed in
"PLAYTIME POTTERY AND PORCELAIN"
by Lorraine Punchard as "Best P & B", made by
Powell & Bishop Co
and would date to
1851-1866
.
All plates and soup plates are in excellent condition. The under plate is in excellent condition while the soup tureen and lid have wonderful make-do repairs. There are 3 staples inside the lid and one staple on the top side. The tureen base has 6 staples holding it together. There are also a couple of un-repaired chips on the lid and one to the top rim of the tureen. The ornate tureen handles and finial have embossed leaves and are not damaged.
A great set to add to any collection of children's dishes or for the collector of make-do repairs.
Thanks for checking it out.
