    Description

COCA COLA PAIR OF 1950'S TIN THERMOMETERS 16.5 INCH NEAR MINT NEVER USED WORKS. I decided instead of listing each one I will list both for one money. These are all around 60 years old, maybe a little older. I will describe each one from left to right. The first one has very nice colors/paint it has a couple small paint spots by the 80 degree mark. Very light age wear with a couple light scratches. The paint is nice and shiny with no dents or dings. There is a hole at the bottom and at the soda line for hanging. Made in the USA by Robertson. It has a gray back. No fading. No rust Thermometer works. The right one is almost mint, old store stock. Paint is very shiny. Has the ring at the top plus a hole for hanging. No fading. Thermometer works, classic olive green back. No rust. Made in the U.S.A. by Donasco. This is a nice collection of classic Coca Cola thermometers that I won at a Coca Cola auction in Pennsylvania many years ago. Both of these were never hung outside in my opinion. Please ask any question that you may have. Thank you, Dave **NOTE Concerning the Donasco Thermometer*** I have had some questions about the originality of this piece. I have plenty of Coke items and I'd like to think I know what I am doing yet, it's a bit of a funny game. The reproduction stuff licensed by Coke say on it that it's a reproduction, like those 1973 tip/serving trays. These are getting old in their own right but, will never be as valuable as the originals in my view. An auction that was held at Morphy's auction house on May 15, 2016 where a Donasco 1958 thermometer sold for 0.00 with fahrenheit and celsius. They sell a ton of soda related advertising and have on their staff Gary Metz who is the guru go to guy when it comes to Coca Cola. I mean how can that price be explained if it isn't real? Gary Metz must have seen it since this is exactly the kind of item that he would review before giving the stamp of approval to go to auction. I have seen other Donasco signs RC Cola, Barq's, Green Spot soda, Delco Batteries, Dr Pepper etc etc from the 40's and 50's that are actually dated. To me that auction is proof enough. There really isn't a lot of information available about Donasco that I could find. If you have more information and are willing to take the time and let me know I would be grateful. Thanks again, Dave
