Antique WWI World War 1 Cup & Saucer
Antique early 20th century porcelain empire form cabinet cup and saucer. Has a dark orange tone 1914 portrait of Paul Von Hindenburg, framed in raised gold gilding. With gold gilt leaves around the center of the cup. Gold gilding along the lip, inside of the lip, and outside of the handle, and a gold gilt band around the base. The saucer has a gold gilt ring in the center and a wide gold border along the edge. Marked on the bottom with a blue underglaze Furstenberg F. I have not been able to find an exact date for this F.
There is one very tiny flake to the lip of the cup, above the portrait. It is gilded over, probably done in manufacture. Otherwise excellent condition with no post manufacture chips or cracks.
The cup measures approximately 4 1/4 inches wide including the handle x 3 1/2 inches tall.
The saucer measures approximately 5 1/2 inches wide.
This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
