    Description

    Robby Robot - Forbidden Planet
    This small (4 1/2” high) wind-up robot is copyright 1956 by Lowe’s Inc and 1983 by MGM/UA (MGM was owned by Lowe’s in 1956 when the film was released).  Both dates are mentioned on the box, as well as molded into the back of the robot (see picture 6), although, strangely, the box also says "1984" on the side (see picture 6).  The robot bears the Masudaya logo and the word “Japan” molded on its butt.
    It is in perfect running order, not having been played with.  Likewise, the box is also in excellent condition, as can be seen from the photos.  Box graphics are bright due to its having been stored in the dark within a larger box since the 1980’s.
